THE ART OF PAINTING WITH STONES
MARBLE MOSAIC
The search for beauty, the pleasure of confronting a natural material such as marble, “cold but lively”, “hard but flexible”, capable of expressing colours and movements are a challenge which our expert craftsmen and artistic geniuses can turn into little, big chef d’ouvres, each one different from the other, thus unique in their own kind.
SCAGLIOLA
The decorative works done in our premises today, are done according to the oldest and most special scagliola techniques. Our table tops, small pictures and wall panels reflect the young craftsmen’s passion for this centuries-old form of art which they learn following the guidance of expert masters.
SPECIAL PROJECT
Our customers’ designs are an integral part of our trade of craft. Our flexibility, our will to share ideas and proposals, drive us to manufacture pieces on the basis of the committed designs by using the best materials available in the fittest matches. Many important architects and interior designers have profited of our cooperation over the years thus aknowledging our ability and professionality in a consolidated relationship of trust originated in the joint works.
FLORENCE MOSAIC: ABOUT US
We are a team where young craftsmen supervised by skilful masters create unique works with “cold but lively” materials such as marbles and stones.
The most beautiful houses have always been decorated with precious marbles and stones. The masterpieces made by our expert masters making use of the polychromy of different materials are still worty of admiration today.
In our workshop, the use of different techniques joined with our craftmen’s passion and professionality allows us to create table tops, floors, coatings, pictures, interior design accessories reminding the well known artistic masterpieces of the past. Our mastery of scagliola techniques adds ductility and plasticity to our works thus rendering our pieces unique wherever they are shown all over the world.
Set in the florentine Oltrarno, the cradle of the artistic handicraft, our workshop wishes to hand down in its works that beautiful and unreapeatable artistic period known as Renaissance.
"Of all the ever-lasting things done with colours, nothing stands better the wind and water than mosaics. And in Florence, Lorenzo de' Medici the elder was very knowledgeable about mosaics. As a far-seeing lover of the antiques, he strived to revive what had been long forgotten"
